Nom de Strip is looking to appoint an intern, 2 days a week for a period of 3 months starting in August 2012.
We are looking for a creative individual to immerse themselves within an internship which will give them the opportunity to work within a professional arts environment, gain experience and develop a wide variety of skills in creative writing, editorial research and online content management software vital to a CV when seeking employment in arts marketing and publishing. Training will be provided initially and thereafter we would support a level of self-initiative. We endeavour to ensure the experience supports the interests of the intern.
Nom de Strip in partnership with Peninsula Arts, promotes culture across the arts, regeneration and creative entrepreneurship in Plymouth and the South West. It focuses attention on the individuals, groups and organisations that contribute to the South West’s growing cultural profile.
This is a great opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic graduate intern to join our team and gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced studio environment working on a variety of projects.
Skills and Experience – ideally you will have:
• good writing skills
• sound researching skills
• knowledge of both Photoshop and WordPress
• a passion for the arts.
Responsibilities – the key responsibilities for this position include:
– help to plan, research and shape editorial content.
– plan, conduct and edit interviews with figures from across editorial projects.
– write, update, and upload editorial content across our online presence.
Training will be provided initially and thereafter we would support a level of self-initiative. We endeavor to ensure the experience supports the interests of the intern. Our internships are unpaid and based on normal working hours of 10am-5pm.

Our internships are unpaid and based on normal working hours of 10am-5pm, plus 3 evening events per month (one hour max b/w 6.30-8.30pm).
Minimum time commitment: 2 days per week for 3 months
This position will be based at the Formation Zone in the Roland Levinsky Building, Plymouth University.
