6 October, 2pm-4pm | Waterstones, New George Street, Plymouth.
What? On Saturday, Devon-based photographer John Curno will launch his new photographic publication at Waterstones on New George Street in Plymouth. The 240-page, black & white, hard-back, It’s About Time features around 30 years of Curno’s work, including photographs made across Devon, Dartmoor and Exeter. Also included, are extensive studies of the North Yorkshire moors (where Curno lived after leaving Plymouth).
Curno’s career has been quietly significant within British photography; his work stems back to early exhibitions at Impressions Gallery in York, and the introduction to the book, by writer Val Williams, offers insights into his consistent investigative studies of landscape and rural life. The book is published by Fotonow CIC, a Plymouth-based organisation developing photography projects within Plymouth. Curno’s book represents their first monograph of an established artist.
