Two Short Nights: 48 Hour Film Challenge

Registration until Friday 9 November | Film Festival 29 – 30 November | Exeter Phoenix, Exeter

The Oliver Complex by Jerri Hart

Who? Exeter Phoenix is hosting a 48-hour film-making challenge for film enthusiasts or amateurs who want to try their hand at – wait for it – film-making.

What? The 48-hour Film Challenge is what it is: you are given 48 hours to create, shoot and edit a short film that lasts no longer than 5 minutes. Interesting, no? You can enter individually or with others (for free) from Friday 12 October. Then, on Friday 9 November, entrants will be given a briefing that includes a theme, a prop and a sentence to explore through the medium of film. The finished product is then submitted on Sunday 11 November: entries will be judged and whittled down to the best few, then screened for the world to see at the special Two Short Nights Film Festival on 29-30 November. The audience pick the winner.

When? 9-11 November 2012.
You can register to take part between 12 October and 7 November.
The screening will be 29-30November.

Where? In the depths of your happy, deep and dreamy imagination. But really it all goes down at Exeter Phoenix. The Two Short Nights Film Festival will be screened there, too. Exeter Phoenix, Bradninch Place, Gandy Street, Exeter, EX4 3LS

Why? This is a unique opportunity for anyone itching to get involved in independent film, or just wanting to see what it’s like in the industry. It is accessible for anyone who wants to take part, FREE, and you can take it as far as you want to go. It is very exciting and innovative.
